Skincare and makeup can be a lot of fun, especially with all the trends out there that just seem to get more and more creative, but the truth is that not all products are worth your valuable cash.
Some products are just gimmicks and while they may be fun and exciting to use, you could probably do without them…
1. Facial Scrubs
While exfoliating the skin can be beneficial, facial scrubs can actually do more harm than good. This is because they can strip the skin of its natural oils, which can lead to dryness, irritation, and even breakouts. If you want to exfoliate your skin, it is best to use a gentle exfoliating cleanser instead of a scrub.
2. Makeup Removers
Makeup removers are yet another type of skincare product that you can likely do without. This is because most cleansers will do an adequate job of removing makeup from your face. Additionally, many makeup removers contain harsh chemicals that can irritate the skin. Instead, just use your cleanser to help keep your skin fresh and clean!
3. Eye Creams
This may come as a shock, but eye creams are a waste of your hard-earned cash! This is because creams are not usually suitable for the delicate skin around the eye area, so a serum that sinks into the skin faster and more effectively is a much better option to help keep your eye area bright and youthful!
4. Makeup Setting Sprays
Makeup setting sprays are a type of product that is designed to keep makeup in place throughout the day. However, many setting sprays contain ingredients that can actually damage the skin. Additionally, some setting sprays contain silicone, which can clog pores and lead to breakouts. Skip these products altogether!
5. Lip Plumpers
Lip plumpers are designed to temporarily plump up the lips by increasing blood flow to the area. However, their effects are only temporary and rarely make that much of a difference. They’re also not the most comfortable things to wear, so we won’t be buying them anytime soon!
